Youth Director – Part Time


The Blue Ridge Community Fellowship (BRCF) Youth Director is responsible to oversee the ministry to lead youth (middle school through college age) into a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to pursue an active role for youth in the Christian community. The BRCF Youth Director will oversee the SOAR Student Ministry and College Ministry, ensuring the BRCF youth ministries create environments for our youth to develop a personal relationship with God, grow in faith, and discover God’s plan for their lives.


The BRCF Youth Director should demonstrate the following characteristics:

1.   A mature Christian believer with a strong personal faith, daily spiritual disciplines, and personal integrity.

2.   Three years or more of experience leading youth ministries.

3.   A clear calling and passion for leading the discipleship of youth and their families.

4.   Grounded with a strong knowledge of the Bible, a clear understanding of the Gospel, and the ability to communicate Biblical truths through teaching and discipleship.

5.   Skilled in Biblical conflict resolution, effective communication, and management of social media.

6.   Be dedicated to creating an environment of creativity, excellence, and fun.

7.   Be committed to building and maintaining BRCF core values and culture.

8.   Be humble and transparent as a team member of BRCF leadership.

Vision, Mission, and Responsibilities:


The BRCF youth ministry leads youth into a deep personal relationship with Jesus that also provides a solid foundation of biblical knowledge and skills to fulfill God’s calling in their lives.  


The BRCF youth ministry is a safe and challenging partnership with families where youth are discipled in the pursuit of an ever-growing personal relationship with Jesus to become mature and wise believers who are effective in sharing their faith.


1.   Recruit, select and train youth interns and volunteers to accomplish the Mission.

2.   Disciple the youth interns and volunteers and develop them individually and as a unified team.

3.   Find/develop teaching materials to establish a complete Biblical foundation for youth including addressing the cultural challenges Christian youth face today.

4.   Oversee the planning and development of a annual calendar of youth events.

5.   Oversee the weekly SOAR youth gatherings and the other events.

6.   Consistently pursue increased youth engagement in weekly gatherings, groups and events.

7.   Communicate weekly with the pastor and Advisory Board oversight member(s) concerning progress, challenges, changes in plans and support needs.  Work with the parent oversight team to establish ministry focus areas and understand the needs of the youth families.

8.   Support and encourage the core values and culture of BRCF.
