What to Expect When You Come for Worship at Blue Ridge

The following is a general overview of what Sunday mornings look like at Blue Ridge:

We meet for worship every Sunday morning at 10AM. The Sunday service is also streamed live on Facebook Live. You can find the link on the Blue Ridge Facebook page. All in all, our services last about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.

We seek to create an environment for worship in which people can connect with God. Our worship services at Blue Ridge are Spirit-filled and always open to anyone who desires to attend. Our services are filled with Scripture as we believe in the truth and power of God’s Word. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the center of our worship and Holy Scriptures are read and proclaimed each Sunday.
Hospitality & Attire
You will find Blue Ridge to be a very welcoming church. Many first-time visitors remark that the hospitality and welcoming people are the first thing they recognize and love most about our church. Light breakfast items, refreshments and coffee are available prior to the beginning of worship. Dress is casual, or however you feel most comfortable.
Our worship team leads us primarily in a contemporary style of worship, but we also love to regularly incorporate hymns with arrangements set to acoustic guitars and other instruments. Whether our worship team consists of a full band or a smaller acoustical arrangement, we always experience the presence of the LORD as we worship Him in song.
Diverse Expressions
God has called us to be a wonderfully diverse church. Thus, we welcome varied expressions of worship. Whether standing, kneeling, raising hands, clapping, shouting, dancing, or sitting quietly, feel free to worship as the Holy Spirit moves you.
Each week we celebrate what God has done throughout our week, so we regularly have a time for “glory sightings”—which are short testimonies of God’s faithfulness in our lives shared by people in our congregation who feel led share. We also dedicate a significant portion of our service for prayer.
Blue Ridge is called to be generous with the resources God has given us. Each week, 10% of God’s tithe and our offerings go into an account set aside for local and global missions. We do not collect offering during our worship service as we never want anyone to feel pressured or obligated to give financially to our church or embarrassed if they are unable to do so. An offering basket is available each Sunday before and after worship for anyone who feels led to give. We also have online giving options.
Children 10 and under will worship with their parents and be dismissed for children’s church prior to the message. Due to COVID-19 precautions, childcare is not offered to children 2 and under.
